Mark Rocco serves as the Assistant Band Director for the Olentangy Berlin High School Marching Band and Band Director for Olentangy Berlin Middle School. A passionate educator and accomplished musician, Mr. Rocco is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of performers through his work with students in the Olentangy Local School District.
Originally from Rootstown, Ohio, Mr. Rocco developed a love for music early on, honing his skills on the bassoon at Theodore Roosevelt High School. He went on to earn his degree in Music Education with an instrumental emphasis from Ohio University in 2022. During his time at OU, Mr. Rocco was deeply involved in the School of Music, where he cherished the opportunity to collaborate with peers who shared his passion for music and commitment to artistic growth.
As an educator, Mr. Rocco fosters a supportive and engaging environment, helping students build their musical talents and teamwork skills. His work spans everything from directing middle school bands to assisting the high school marching band in creating performances that showcase creativity and precision. Mr. Rocco’s enthusiasm for music and teaching ensures his students not only develop technical skills but also a lifelong appreciation for the art.
When he’s not on the podium or working with students, Mr. Rocco enjoys connecting with fellow musicians, exploring new repertoire, and sharing his love for music with the Olentangy community.
